What we will never add

A reading app can keep you by being good, or it can keep you by making you feel late. We are choosing the first, and writing the second down so it cannot sneak in later.

No streak that punishes a missed day. No coins, no spins, no paid surprise. No notification whose job is guilt.

A chapter can fluster you. A notification should not. The feeling belongs to the book. The app does not get to borrow it to make you open the app.

These are decisions, not features you can tap. They are already true, which is why they can be said out loud before the app ships.
