A book club fails when it asks you to perform your taste in front of people who wanted a different book. The snacks are not the problem. The audience is.

What we are building is smaller. Two people, one book, a private thread that does not become a post. Call it a buddy read if you like. It is a plan. There is no way to start one on this site, and there will not be until the app exists and the rules for it exist too.

Until then the honest version is this page. You can want the quiet version of a club without pretending we already host one.
